Great tool, poor handle March 1, 2016

This, like all of it's style of kistka has a great barrel for wax flow.  This extra fine one even comes with it's own cleaning pin.  However, it is not possible to work on a pysanka while only heating the kistka 3 seconds at a time.  Thus the brass inside the plastic gets too hot to hold the handle.  Since I need a larger diameter handle for comfort I wrap the handle fixing that problem, but leading to the plastic getting so hot the head gets loose.  A wooded handle would make these perfect.

More than I had expected! December 10, 2013

I struggled with purchasing this kistka for two reasons.  First -  this is a relatively new hobby for me, and second - I wasn't sure that I wanted to purchase such an expensive tip that I wasn't sure that I would actually use.  I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG!

One word of caution - do make the purchase of extra refined beeswax to use with this kistka, or you may find that you do not get the result that you are wanting. It could just be me, but I noticed that in using the standard blocks of wax (the ones with the kistka pictured on them), I had to hold the kistka over the flame longer to heat the wax, which produced a thicker line.  After a couple of strokes, I would get that finer line, but only after the kistka cooled down just a bit (again - it could just be me).  I did not have this problem when I used ultra refined wax.

I love this kistka! You cannot go wrong with this purchase!
