Nicholas II, as the Tsarevich, laid the foundations for work on the construction of the Siberian Railway, when he and his brother George reached Vladivostok on the final part of their overseas journey in 1890 - 1891. The Trans-Siberian Railway Egg was transferred in 1927 to the Kremlin Armoury Museum in Moscow and is one of the ten Eggs that were never sold. The Egg is supported by three griffins cast in gold-plated silver, each brandishing a sword and shield.
A working model of the train was inserted into the Egg section by section. It consists of a platinum locomotive with a ruby lantern and rosette headlights and of five gold coaches with windows of rock crystal. The coaches are marked Inches mail Inches, Inches for ladies only Inches, Inches smoking Inches, and Inches on-smoking Inches. The last coach is designated Inches chapel Inches. The train was wound up with a golden key.

It's so exciting to own a little piece of history. Aside from their phenomenal service, Bestpysanky never fails to maintain a high standard for their merchandise. The enamel work on this perfect reproduction is fantastic. The price was so affordable I bought several to give as gifts. There's a tiny gold locomotive train inside as the surprise!
So detailed. A nice addition to the other eggs I have.
Item was exactly as described, well made and beautifully crafted.
I think this is the best purchase yet!! It is quite admired by those who see it and then when they open it, it really surprises them!
Ottimo prodotto corrispondente alla descrizione. Spedizione veloce venditore consigliato.
All purchases hae been received promptly and have made excellent gifts. One slip up this ime, however, the small train inside the egg was fastened together - one car wheels down, the other wheels up. With dre I was able to bend the connecting wires and refasten them as they should be. Just happy the wires didn't break off. Everything worked out perfectly. Will order again.
a bit small, smaller than original and only 2 railroad cars (original had 6) but for a smaller copy, good addition to my collection. very well made, very impressive and I intend to purchase more items. arrived right away and well packaged to prevent breakage. box it came in has nice pattern on it and makes a nice shelf. thumbs up
Very nice item, I love it. Good quality and well made. Possibly the train could have more carriages?
Love it well made, and great price!
Stand and train are impressive as is the green enamelling and gilding on the egg. The siver map of the Trans-Siberian line is not clearly rendered and somewhat disappointing. The siver appears dull.
