The original Steel Military Egg is one of a series of fifty-two Russian jeweled Easter eggs made by Alma Pihl under the supervision of the Russian jeweler Peter Carl Faberge in 1916, for the last Tsar of Russia, Nicholas II. Tsar Nicholas presented the egg as an Easter gift to his wife, the Tsaritsa Alexandra Fyodorovna. The egg is one of the ten Imperial eggs that were never sold and now is found in the Kremlin Armory.
The original exterior of the egg is made from gold, steel, and is coated in vitreous enamel, while the interior is made of silk and velvet. The egg stands on a base of Jade. Four steel artillery shells support the egg.
This exceeded my expectations! It’s slightly different from the original, but this reproduction is a good size (at 4.5”) and looks terrific in person. I was able to gently adjust one of the front legs to balance the egg better and I had a 4”x4” square black marble slab cut and beveled for it as a base (at 3/4” height), so now it’s amazing! AAA+++
A beautiful well-made piece.
This is quite well made. Might have been better if the egg had been enamelled in the colours of the original Faberge egg.
Nice.Excellent condition. Close to the duplication of the original. Thank for Craftsmanship . Highly recommended.

I recommend to fans of art of Faberg!
***** 5 stars****** for quality, craftsmanship and beauty. Highly recommended.
This egg in not a duplicate of the original, but it comes close and is a perfect addition to my Faberge egg collection. The egg arrived in record time in excellent condition. I have no complaints about the egg or the service.
